14+ Year Old Creative Ballet Classes
Our 14+ year old ballet classes focus on extending all previous technique learnt in ballet. This develops into complex choreographies which range from traditional ballets like Swan Lake and the Nutcracker to more modern abstract pieces. We still maintain a creative approach at this age as we find that it continues to foster their love of dance and is a powerful outlet to positively impact their mental well being. We do not have uniforms at any age as the dancers all have different styles and personal expression which they are welcome to share at the studio.
14+ Year Old Jazz Classes
Our 14+ year old jazz class is our oldest group of dancers for this style. At this age however we do still take beginners, no prior experience is needed. The way we have our classes set up, and the methods in which we teach mean that dancers can join at any stage and ability. In this age group we are able to explore even more types of jazz from different eras. The range in styles and music is a lot of fun and the dancers end up finding styles that they had never come across before. Improvisation is really developed at this age and is fun to explore through jazz. This class is often taken combined with a different class style beforehand.
14+ Year Old Contemporary Dance Classes
Our 14+ year old contemporary dance class is a great way for dancers at this age to express themselves through a creative outlet, without any pressure that often dance can often have at this age. Contemporary is a free, flowing and expressive genre which allows the dancer to utilise the whole body in many movements, a lot of them using the floor. We teach the safe and necessary technique to ensure that floor work is done well, comfortably and safely for each dancer.
This is a great class to come in and leave your day at the door regardless of what has happened, lose yourself in the momentum of dance and leave with a huge smile.
14+ Strength and Stretch
Our 14+ year old strength and stretch class is a 30 minute class focused on gaining strength, and mobilising the body. It is great for the dancers' fitness and wellbeing. The dancers learn about different parts of the body, how to strengthen them, and also how to stretch them. As well as increasing flexibility and strength this class is great for overall fitness. Many dancers' do this class alongside their other genres, classes for this age are placed before and after this class to make that possible.
